Volvo is recalling a number of models due to faulty seat rails that may allow the passenger to slide the seat too far forward. According to the Swedish automaker, the mechanism was manufactured wrong, and if the passenger is seated too close to the dash, an injury may occur during an accident. According to the National Highway Transportation Administration, Volvo dealers will inspect the seat rails and fix the issue as necessary free of charge. As of right now, the company hasn't said when exactly the recall will begin.
The fault affects 2009-2011 S40, S60, V50 and XC60 models, and NHTSA says that around 7,420 units could be impacted by the problem.
This is the second recall from Volvo in under a month. The first involved a bad ECU parameter that could cause vehicles to stall. Hit the jump for a look at the most recent recall notice.
